Sitting here on a Sunday night I am treating myself to this weeks episode of DEXTER and it occurs to me that I really haven't spoke much about this show so I figure, now is the time.
DEXTER airs every Sunday at 10 PM on SHOWTIME and tells the twisted tale of Dexter Morgan a blood spatter expert who works for the Miami police department. He is intelligent, caring and very good at his job. Oh yeah, he's also a serial killer and he is very, very good at that.
This is the second season for this amazingly well written and even better acted hour long drama. This is advanced horror folks. This isn't for you gore hounds out there looking for a quick blood fix. This is for those of us that really want to know what goes on behind the eyes of a deranged killer. Quite possibly the most terrifying show I have ever watched we follow Dexter through his life where he picks his victims from the flood of humanity that he sees every day doing his job.
He only kills those that deserve killing. The pushers, the dealers, the killers. Those that get away with crimes, get off on a technicality, etc. He hunts them down and dishes out his own form of justice and then cuts them up into little pieces and dumps them in the ocean.
In season one we followed Dexter in pursuit of The Ice Box Killer. Through some amazing twists and turns the story unfolds and climaxed in an enthralling season ender that was Emmy worthy.
We are now 3 episodes into season two and they have already far surpassed last season. I can't and won't give away what's going on I just want to press upon you that you must subscribe to Showtime and watch this show. Dexter alone is worth the couple bucks a month it costs to watch it.
Season One is out now on DVD so you can rush out and pick that up and get yourself up to speed between now and next Sunday.
Dexter rules and if you're not watching it then you're guilty of the worst crime of all, missing a genre show that is worthy of your time.
