Word around the net is that SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD just plain sucks.  I haven't seen it yet but based on LAND and DIARY I've got to confess, I am not expecting much.

George needs to back away from the CGI, head back to  the burgh, call Savini on the phone and be like, "hey Tom, lets do it all again one more time just for the hell of it."

That happens and it's game on kids.  Lets face it what made the early DEAD films awesome was Romero's ideas and Tom's ability to pull them off.  They were like kids playing with a new batch of Play Doh and we all got to watch in as they molded and crafted a bunch of stuff from their basement into horror awesomeness.  What don't work on these new films is that there is no "awe" factor.  Anyone with a 2 year degree in graphic arts can whip this shit up on a computer, we all know it and we just don't care.  There is none of the "how in the hell did they do that!!!" in the films.

Wow!  That turned into a bit of a rant.  Sorry about that.

What brought it on was this awesome new poster that just showed up.  It reminded me of the old days.
