In 2005, brothers, Phillip and Christopher Booth co-wrote and Phillip directed, Death Tunnel. Released in the United States in October 2005, the film had an estimated budget of $1,500,000.00. Starring; Steffany Huckaby (Heather), Annie Burgstede (Tori), Kristin Novak (Ashley), Melanie Lewis (Devon), Yolanda Pecoraro (Elizabeth) and Jason Lasater (Richie)

Five college co-eds, Heather, Tori, Ashley, Devon and Elizabeth are dared to spend the night at the Waverly Hills Sanatorium as part of a college initiation stunt. Each girl is to spend the night on a separate floor of the haunted sanatorium and of course, there are things in the sanatorium that go bump in the night. Once the terror begins, the girls locate the old hospital records and find they each look very much like some of the hospital's earlier residents and thus they share a link with the hospital's past. Unfortunately for the coeds, the ghosts aren't their only concern as it seems a lunatic, dressed in a gas mask and what looks like a garbage bag, is on the loose that adds a new terror to the ghostly happenings.....a slasher!

Death Tunnel is offered in anamorphic widescreen (1.78:1) and for a low-budget affair, looks quite good. Audio is Dolby Digital 5.1 English and optional English and French subtitles are offered. Bonus features include:

-Death Is In Fashion-A short gallery of the coeds dressed in very skimpy and occasional bloody undies.

-Death Tunnel: An Inside Look at the Movie-A behind-the scenes look at the film as well as some interviews with cast and crew.

-Behind the Scenes Photos

-Productions Stills

-Trailers: Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King, Dirty, Underworld: Evolution

Wow. This is a BAD film, it's not even what I'd consider one of those, 'so bad, it's good' films. It actually took me two sittings to get through the film and might have taken a third sitting, but I forced myself to sit through it, just so it would end. Perhaps this is the kind of film that's been done so often in the past that it held no interest for me, but I honestly feel it was just a poor film. I've seen enough horror films that you know the stories have been done and re-done and quite often, the same old storyline can be done and done well, this simply isn't the case with, Death Tunnel. Now, the film isn't a total loss, the hospital/sanatorium is quite creepy, but the film jumps around far too much and the acting is just bad.....I know, I know, people always say if you think you can do any better, then go for it. I've never acted a day in my life, but I honestly think I could out-act the cast, but I doubt anyone would pay to see me in the teeny-tiny nighties! I like haunted houses, hospitals and the like, but this film simply wasn't scary, it wasn't interesting and God help me, but I'd have whacked the coeds myself, just to end the film. If you're perusing your local rental shop for a film to watch and you come across, Death Tunnel....RUN, don't walk away, run!

**One bit of interest regarding the making of the film, it was filmed in Louisville, Kentucky at the Waverly Hills Sanatorium. Said to have been the final resting place of 63,000 people who died of, 'The White Plague', the sanatorium is a five level building and the dead were said to have been taken to their final resting place through the underground five hundred foot tunnel.
