There is little doubt that the Masters of Horror DVD’s that have been coming out are nothing short of spectacular.  We have had 2 sets make their way home already and another set is in the wings.  Got the press release today on them and here is all the info:

Anchor Bay Entertainment, an IDT Entertainment company and the acknowledged master of horror on DVD, unveils the next two features in the critically acclaimed “Masters of Horror” film anthology when  “Deer Woman” directed by John Landis (An American Werewolf in London, Innocent Blood) and “Sick Girl” directed by Lucky McKee (May, All Cheerleaders Die) bow on DVD June 27th, 2006. Available separately for $16.98 SRP or as a “Landis/McKee 2-Pack” priced at $29.98 SRP, the newest Masters of Horror DVDs feature hours of amazing bonus materials guaranteed to send shivers down viewers’ still-attached spines!

Directed by John Landis from a teleplay written by John & Max Landis – John’s son – “Deer Woman” stars Brian Benben (“Dream On,” Radioland Murders) as cynical detective Dwight Faraday who, while investigating a series of grisly murders, suspects that the culprit may be not someone but something – an ancient Native American mythological creature, bridging human and Nature with deadly consequences. Featuring spectacular special makeup effects by Academy-Award™ winner makeup designer Howard Berger (The Chronicles of Narnia), “Deer Woman” has it all – seduction and screams, humor and horror – as only John Landis can mix it!

In Lucky McKee’s “Sick Girl,” Angela Bettis (Girl Interrupted) plays Ida Teeter, a dedicated entomologist, whose only respite from her loneliness is her love of bugs. When Ida falls for the beautiful but mysterious Misty (Erin Brown), she cannot believe her good fortune. But is she? Both genre and gender bending, “Sick Girl” tells the sad tale of a rather unique love triangle between two women…and the bug that got between them!
