Dean Devlin, now there is a name the genre hasn’t heard in a while. A few short years ago Devlin was the golden boy with his involvement in the mega hits Independence Day and the Godzilla then he just kind of vanished for a bit. He has been working behind the scenes on quite a few projects but it seems he might be stepping back into the spotlight in a big way. The Hollywood Reporter posted a story that Devlin is about to make his directing debut on a project titled Ghosting. Here is the story from THR:
Dean Devlin finally is making his long-awaited shift from producer to director. He will direct "Ghosting," an effects-packed paranormal thriller, he said Thursday. He will begin shooting the film early next year after principal photography is complete on the September shoot of his sci-fi adventure "Isobar." Devlin ("Independence Day," "Flyboys") also will produce "Ghosting" for his company Electric Entertainment with in-house partners Kearie Peak and Marc Roskin. Jessie Alexander's script centers on a crippled cop who works with a group of undercover investigators who temporarily paralyze hearts to move back and forth between the land of the living and the dead.
Sound pretty cool. Keep it here as we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
