Alien (1979) Review:
Ridley Scott’s great classic of science-fiction/horror! This movie is a wonderful combination of a brilliant monster movie and a great science fiction story!
Cryosphere, giant spaceships, humanoids, everything is here to immerse you into the futuristic world in which the story happens. The first part really builds the intrigue and lets you fear, along with characters, about what may lay ahead on the planet. Then comes the second and best part of the movie where the crew is hunted by the creature itself.
The success of Alien saga comes from the brilliant design of the monster which looks really, really nasty. The acidic blood is a brilliant idea! My only regret is that we actually do not get to see the creature very often in that first movie. It only appears very shortly in a few sequences, maybe because the film crew did not have such a huge special effect budget at the time!
