It’s no exaggeration the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic continues to be the ultimate bummer, with lockdown in different parts of the world, quarantine, and social distancing stealing our joy. Being stuck in our homes has made us reminisce about our old life and we want nothing but our normal lives back.

But the only good thing about this quarantine is that you are not alone; we are all in this together. As we are stuck inside for a long time, we still can access movies using Xfinity TV packages and keep ourselves entertained during these critical and chaotic times.

Since it is a perfect time to sit down with your family and take a cinematic break, here is a list of epic horror movies that you can consider watching during these uncertain times.

Housebound

Of course, Housebound is a little on-the-nose for watching while you are stuck at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Millions of people are housebound right now, hence, you would be able to relate to it.

Housebound is a horror movie with some comedy punches. If you are someone who likes twists and surprises, then this movie is for you! As the name of the movie suggests, it revolves around the life of Kylie Bucknell who is placed under house arrest which makes it a perfect movie for a pandemic.

When Kylie is housebound, her mother’s TV-watching schedule seems to be the major obstacle in her life. Later, as the story unfolds, it seems that she and her mother believe that their house is haunted.

In the beginning of Housebound, you may find yourself wondering why the main characters of the movie didn’t just leave the house. But as the story of the progresses, you will realize how well-constructed the plot of the horror-comedy film is.

The Revenant

Let’s face it- this world is an evil place where you get to meet not-so-kind people. The Revenant is a reminder that everyone is eventually going to abandon you and you should never forget that you are on your own.

This movie is about an explorer who gets abandoned by his hunting crew due to his fatal injuries. The way he uses his skills to survive on his own and takes revenge with those who betrayed him is something that is likely to keep you enthralled until the very end. This movie also reminds us that the world is full of giant snakes, alligators, and sharks that can attack you whenever they want.

The most intimidating scene of the movie is when a bear just comes out of nowhere to attack Leonardo DiCaprio. What makes this movie phenomenal is the fact that it gives you an immersive and visceral cinematic experience. The bear attack scene feels so real and almost every scene in this film is so intense. Both the visuals and vocals of the movie are so powerful that they keep us engaged throughout the movie.

The Others

The Others is a beautifully scripted Gothic horror movie that revolves around a woman who moves into a new house with her two photosensitive children. Nicole Kidman plays the role of a single mother named Grace. Her job whose job is to protect her children from the outside world.

As we mentioned earlier, each child of Grace is photosensitive which means they cannot be exposed to sunlight. It is a rare disease due to which Grace has to face different challenges. After her moving into a new house, a series of inexplicable events start to occur which makes Grace believe that her house is haunted.

This makes the situation even worse for Grace. Needless to say, self-quarantining isn’t fun at all, but after watching this movie you will be relieved to know that at least you don’t have to deal with ghosts in your home!
