1st Half of 102 Not Out Movie
This movie’s story revolves around 102-year-old Dattatreya ( Amitabh Bachchan) and his 76-year-old son Babulal (Rishi Kapoor). At the age of 102 Dattatreya still feels like 26 by heart, he is a bubbly and joyous character and wanted to make a record of longest living man on earth and on another side his son Babulal is totally opposite in nature in comparison to his father and believes that he is too old to enjoy his life even to do daily routine work.
Dattatreya wanted to make a record and need to live in good health Prism and to maintain good health he decided to keep himself away from negative people around him. Hence he decides to send his son to old age home, by hearing this Babulal get upset and as he doesn’t want to stay away from home. Dattatreya feels pity for Babulal and tells him that if he fulfills his certain conditions he will not send him in old age home.
The 1st Condition
Now Dattatreya gives the different task to Babulal to perform, initially Babulal hesitate to do such things but to the fear of going old age home he tries to fulfill conditions given by
Dattatreya. It changes Babulal’s thinking towards life. The first condition is that Babulal has to write a love letter to his deceased wife, Chandrika. After a lot of thinking, he submits the letter to his father, who laughs and enjoys reading the letter.
The 2nd Condition
In the next condition, Dattatreya goes with Dhiru and Babulal to Babulal’s doctor urging him to call the doctor a thief. Dattayara's idea was to break the connection between Babulal and his doctor so that Babulal stops going to the doctor’s clinic every day for a checkup. Babulal accepts the condition to stop going to the doctor’s clinic every day without calling him a thief.
The 3rd Condition
After completing a few conditions, Babulal starts seeing life in a jovial way, just like his father. One condition that totally changes Babu’s life was when he sent him with Dhiru to certain parts of Mumbai which includes a visit to St. Sebastian’s church. Babulal starts to cry and seeing him Dhiru asks Dattatreya. Dattatreya answers that Babulal & his son Amol regularly came here for prayers. But, when Amol grew up he asked Babu to send him to the USA for a brief time but instead settled there. He calls up Babulal once in 6 to 7 months.
Birthday of Babu’s and Climax (Rishi Kapoor)
On Babu’s birthday, Amol called up. Dattatreya, who considers Amol as nuisance & greedy and bad influence for Babu, don’t answer the call and also doesn’t inform Babulal about this call. The same day, the flowers sent by Amol are intercepted by Dattaraya and not handed over to Babulal. Amol calls up again at night but once again Dattatraya doesn’t inform Babu about this call. He, in fact, deletes the call history from Babu’s cell phone. The next day, Dattatreya hands over the flowers to Babu. Babu gets upset that these flowers were not handed to him earlier, and calls up Amol to thank him for his flowers. That’s when Amol informs him about the 2 missed calls and also that he is coming to meet Babulal next month.
Babulal gets angry on Dattatreya for withholding this information. Dattatreya reminds him
of the last 28 days of Babulal’s wife and the actions of Amol. Amol didn’t even come to meet.
