Visions (2015) Review:
I am really through with ghost stories that are all the same, and I was really afraid that it would be exactly the case here, and that Visions would just be the same as every other basic ghost movies that I have seen before. Actually, it is exactly the case for the first hour of the movie: a couple moves into a new house, the woman starts to see strange things, nobody believes her, etc. How many times do we have to go through this scenario? Thankfully, kind of like in The Pact, it gets better in the last part, and the story does feature a clever twist that makes it worth its 90 minutes at least.
It is by no mean an excellent movie, the acting is irritating for the most part and the movie does not build any interesting scares aside for a couple of cheap jumpy scenes. Yet, the story makes it worth your time. After the excellent Jessabelle, I am happy to see that Kevin Greutert is one of the few men still able to make classic ghost movies that are actually interesting.
