The Ward (2010) Review:
The film starts as the usual ghost movie, giving us this time in the asylum context. In that, you pretty have all the film summarized. The movie is not really scary but features a few interesting jumps and a creepy-ish atmosphere.
However, despite the simplistic aspect of the story at first, the film surprises by how captivating it gets. The characters are diverse and well-introduced, with a complex set of relationships with one another. The mystery is really thick and the ending really unpredictable. I disliked that movie until the last 15 minutes which totally shifted my opinion. Congratulations to John Carpenter for still being able to produce surprising horror stories after all this time!.
