The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)Review:

This second episode of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre is really different from the first one in that it is more a horror-comedy than a real horror. Where the first movie emphasized on Leatherface, this one features the all family of freaks.

Leatherface is quite different here. Instead of the original creepy muscular dude from which grip you couldn’t escape, he is now a stupid dumb ass with a chain saw. Victims spend the most of their time dodging him, which makes the movie really frustrating. The brother, a psycho, is brilliantly played. He is actually quite scary in the first half-hour of the movie, the way he keeps picking his skull with the metal coat-hanger is really gross. The Dad is the only actor that is from the original movie. He keeps shouting and gets really annoying at time, spoiling an already limited fun.

The only great addition to the movie is Dennis Hooper, the good guy! He gets totally berserk and goes on to fight LeatherFace with a chainsaw, leading to a memorable final fight! In the vein of the first TCM, the main victim (Caroline Williams) keeps screaming during the all movie. She clearly overacts, but this movie being a comedy, we easily forgive her. Sometimes you really forgot that is it a TCM at all, the pursuits being closer to a Benny Hill episode than to the original TCM.

Apart from this bunch of total maniacs, this movies has nothing as good as the original TCM and really disappointed me! Watch the 2006’s prequel instead!
