The Ape Man is an American feature film of the “monster” and science fiction subgenres. It was directed by William Beaudine with a screenplay written by Karl Brown, based upon a story treatment by Brown. The film was produced by Monogram Pictures and Banner Productions and was released in the United States on March 5th, 1943. The Ape Man stars Bela Lugosi as Doctor James Brewster who is a scientist and uses spinal fluid from a gorilla to transform himself into a murderous ape-man.

The Ape Man Synopsis:
A crazed scientist accidentally turns himself into a half-ape, half-human creature, and scrambles to find a cure. Conducting weird scientific experiments, crazed Dr. James Brewster, aided by his colleague Dr. Randall, has managed to transform himself into a hairy, stooped-over ape-man. Desperately seeking a cure, Brewster believes only an injection of recently-drawn human spinal fluid will prove effective.
