Survival of the Dead (2009) Review:
I have to say that I am being really disappointed by Romero latest work. Its zombie films seem to be decreasingly good with time.
Thereee is at least one thing to be liked in this one. The way the islander keep their dead and try to live with them is interesting. It really makes you wonder about what you would do if you were there. This could have been turned into a great science-fiction scenario but is simply not implemented well enough to be interesting here. The acting, and especially the performance of the marines, was a major turn-off for me. That Tomboy (Athena Karkanis) was super irritating. Thereee is also no tension and no scare, only a few jumpy moments (that are almost comical).
The good concept then just ends up being a pale compensation for an overall lame movie.
