Dead Snow (2009) Review:
Dead Snow came as a huge, pleasant surprise for most zombie fans. Actually, it is a bit wrong to talk about zombies since the creatures in Dead Snow can run, use weapons and even elaborate planned attacks. But still, it remains in the spirit of the genre.
The story is extremely basic, not to say inexistent, but that does not matter so much because the strength of the film is really in the comedy aspect and in the killing scenes. The latest is really innovative and involve multiple “never seen before” weapons such as the use of a snowmobile. Thereee are a lot of cult scenes hilarious action moments towards the end.
In the vein of Braindead or Fido, this Norvegian comedy brings a fresh touch to the zombie genre. It starts as a boring teen movie and actually takes a while to get started. But if you manage to watch through the first hour of stupidity, will discover a crazy, epic final battle making this film definitely worth a watch.
