Hot on the heels of the announce of THE EXORCIST on Blu-ray this haunt season comes the details on the Blu-ray release of the original KING KONG.
Not sure how this oldie but goody is going to look on blu-ray but I'm willing to give it a shot. Here's the cover art, and I'm glad to see they stuck with the original poster artwork.
As far as special features go it looks like they've pretty much stuck with the same stuff that was on that 2 disc standard DVD a while back. Here they are to refresh your memory:
Commentary by Visual Effects Veterans Ray Harryhausen and Ken
Ralston with Interpolated Interview Excerpts of Merian C. Cooper and
Fay Wray
Iām King Kong
: The Exploits of Merian C. Cooper featurette
RKO Production 601: The Making of Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World - 7-Part The Making of Kong Documentary
Original Creation Test Footage with Ray Harryhausen Commentary
The Lost Spider Pit Sequence
Theatrical Trailer
Booklet featuring production photos, notes, and a background of director Merian C. Cooper
Still a nice set of special features.
Warner Bros. will be releasing this in the Digi-book format, which I think rocks.
Sept. 28th is the release date on this one. At least they are giving us a couple months to save up some money.
