I was finding it hard to believe that one else could play Sarah Conner.  Lets face it, Linda Hamilton was Sarah Conner, she owned that role.

Tonight I witnessed the rebirth of Sarah Conner as Lena Headey straps on the guns and protects her beloved John from the future.  I was afraid that this show was going to end up like the ill conceived BLADE series, you know, sucky.

I'm happy to report that this show rocks.  I have to give FOX kudo's for having the balls to air this show.  There is some mildly controversial stuff in this premiere episode.  The opening scene depicts a nuclear attack then we are whisked away to a school where a Terminator posing as a teacher attempts to take out John in the classroom.  We're talking full on  gunfire combat in a classroom.  For this day and age that's pretty ballsy for primetime TV.

THE SARAH CONNER CHRONICLES takes up right after the film TERMINATOR 2:  JUDGMENT DAY.  They think that SKYNET has been stopped and the world is now safe but Sarah being the ever cautious warrior she is  has not stopped being careful and continues training John, just in case.  As you may have already guessed its a darn good thing she has been so vigilant because things are gearing up again.  Blowing up Cvyberdyne hasn't stopped the future and Terminators have found the Conners and its time for the fun to start.

A couple of twists for the TV show.  The good Terminator is a hot young chic this time.  Played perfectly by Summer Glau the character of Cameron is sent to be the protector of John Conner and having the Terminator be a high school age girl this time around is an interesting twist in the mythos.

Another twist that I have not yet decided if I like yet or not is that they introduce the fact that Sarah and John and their new found hot Terminator friend can now travel through time.  I know that has been a staple of the film series for the Terminators to be able to do but the fact that John and Sarah can now do it as well seems a little strange but it does set up what appears to be the storyline for the time being.

All in all this first hour was a very strong, entertaining entrance into a new chapter of the TERMINATOR saga that I am hoping will turn out to be a long running edgy series.

Part two of the season premiere airs Monday night on FOX.
