A quick stop in at Davis DVD brought the info on the new 75th Aniversary Edition of Dracula and Frankenstein. It is amazing how well these film still hold up. A testament to two of the greatness films of all time. Here are the details on these two must have discs:
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has revealed full details on the two new additions to their Legacy Series classics line. Dracula: 75th Anniversary Edition arrives with a digitally remastered fullscreen transfer, Dolby Digital Mono audio, optional new score composed by Philip Glass and performed by The Kornos Quartet, a commentary with horror historian David J. Skal, a second commentary with screenwriter Steve Haberman ("Dracula: Dead and Loving It"), "Lugosi: The Dark Prince," "The Road to Dracula" and "Monster Tracks" featurettes. Disc 2 will include the complete 104-minute Spanish-language version of Dracula also starring Lugosi, with an introduction by Lupita Tovar Kohner, a poster montage and the trailer.
The two-disc Frankenstein: 75th Anniversary Edition arrives with remastered fullscreen transfer, Dolby Digital Mono audio, a commentary track with film historian Rudy Behlmer, a second commentary with historian Sir Christopher Frayling, "Karloff: The Gentle Monster," "The Frankenstein Files: How Hollywood Made a Monster" and "Monster Tracks" featurettes, the Frankenstein Archives, "Boo!" A Short Film and the original trailer. Both are due on September 26th and will retail $26.98 apiece.
