Story of Hindi Medium Movie
Dream for Admission on English School
Hindi medium is a story of a couple, Raj and Mita Batra from Chandni Chowk Delhi, although he and his wife studied in a Hindi Medium school the couple wants their daughter Pia (Dishita Sehgal) to study in a good English medium school. The top school Delhi Grammar School has a condition that they will admit students who reside within a 3km radius, so the family moves to Vasant Vihar & parents are also interviewed for the admission of their child. They go to a consultant, Shikha (Tillotama Shome) for a grooming session so that they can get selected for the interview. But still their daughter gets rejected by all the schools as Raj tries all sorts of ploys but none of his tricks succeed to make him & his wife clears the interview.
Race to Admission
Then they both try the Right To Education (RTE) quota which are for the poor children. Raj seeks the help of a tout after he assures that he can rig the lottery process through which students are selected. But then a news report exposes the manipulation of the RTE quota by rich parents. So, in order to stay secured thy actually start living the life of a poor family at the address which they had filled in the form. They get shifted to the locality
and start acting poor in order to get the admission of their neighbors, Shyam Prakash Kori (Deepak Dobriyal) and his wife Tulsi who were their neighbors, help them to get adjusted as they were new to that locality. One day background verification is been carried out and the couple somehow handles the situation.
Pia’s Selection via RTE
Pia eventually gets admission, but Mohan (Angshuman Nandi), the son of Shyam, does not get selected as his seat stolen by rich family students. Then the couple returns to their Vasant Vihar home and visits the school where Mohan is studying, to sponsor his studies. And the couple also donated a good amount to renovate the school. Raj’s meets the school principal (Amrita Singh) to cancel his daughter’s admission but she denies the proposal. Then in a scene, Raj gives a moving speech in the auditorium and walks away from the school and afterward, Raj and Mita send Pia to the government-run Hindi Medium school where Mohan studies and the story ends.
Hindi Medium Climax
Thereee is a strong undercurrent of the right emotions in the climax, Raj delivers an emotional as well as moving speech in the school auditorium. The amazing climax scene
was organized in the movie but the denouement messes up the sentiments as the film goes completely awry.
