Story of Aruvi Movie Story
Aruvi The Police Officer
The movie starts with Aruvi (Aditi Balan) and Emily (Anjali Varadhan) being questioned by police officer Shakeel ( Mohammed Ali Baig) who doubts Aruvi to be part of a terrorist group. Aruvi’s parents and friends are also called for questioning who tells about Aruvi’s childhood. She is fondly raised, an innocent girl from a middle-class family. Her life takes a turn when her family turns against her and thrown her out of her house of having brought shame to the family. Her college friend Jessy takes her in her home for a time being, them Aruvi moves to hostel and lives with Emily, who is a transgender.
The Loan Requirement
They both work for a man called Arulmani as a tailor in an NGO. One day Aruvi goes to Arulmani, asking him for a loan of 2 lakh rupees, as her father has suffered a heart attack.
Sometimes undergoes touch therapy with Swamiji to heal stress. Emily meets the producer of a reality show, that displays people’s problem on television. She tells the producer of the show about three men who raped her friend Aruvi.
The Start of Shooting
The assistant director of the show Peter (Pradeep Antony) to broadcast their problem and calls the three men for cross-examination. In the next morning shooting starts, as the host of the show asks Aruvi to tell what happened to her. Aruvi than disclose that Arulmani, Swamiji and Jessy’s father Joseph. Arulmani had taken benefit of Aruvi’s condition when she begged for a loan. Joseph had sexually abused when she has taken shelter in his home and the Swamiji had hypnotized and raped her. Aruvi than disclose that she has had Aids for the past two years. She meets with her friend Emily in an NGO as both of them infected with Aids.
Benefit of Director
Aruvi tells the three of them to tell to say sorry, but the host of the show Laxmi turns against Aruvi. The director of the show uses all this drama to his benefit as this would improve his show’s TRP ratings. Aruvi pulls out the gun and shoots at the director of the show in his arm. Later she comforts herself and says sorry to everyone, but as she gets up to leave the show, Arulmani stops Aruvi and hits Emily. This provokes Aruvi and she pointed the gun at him and takes everyone captive. After hearing the gunshots, police started surrounding the studio doubting terrorist movement. Aruvi than plays game ‘spin the bottle’, whomever the bottle points at should do anything Aruvi tells, else they will be shot.
The Old Man Life Stage
As part of the game, Aruvi asks Peter to propose to her which he does not do properly, so she asks him to tell a story, he started to said story. An old man happily passes his life in his village. At once there happens a theft in that village for which the old man is suspicious even by his family members. Due to this he leaves the village and goes somewhere else. During the end stages of his life he recalls his past happy life and writes a letter about all the things he feels to the members of his village, which he handover to a man in that village, who then go to tea shop purchase a cigarette and smokes, after that he calls all the people who know the old man to go and find him at the end of the story the old man is found.
Aruvi’s Forgiveness
Aruvi even forgives the three men who raped her. She then surrenders to the police. Considering Aruvi and Emily are AIDS Patients, they cannot be arrested and have to be lone inside the camp. On one night, she departs from the camp and goes to the village all alone. After some days, all contacts of Aruvi receive a video from Aruvi on Facebook. The video shows her crying and clarifying how she misses everyone and tells about all the mistakes in her life. Aruvi is eventually surrounded by everyone she loves towards the end of her life. Peter had really proposed to her in the way she liked but had forgotten the whole event. Than Aruvi smiled at him and was happy. The film ends with peter nabbing the image of Aruvi smiling.
