Story of Super Deluxe
This movie is divided into four different substories. First is about Vaembu, Mugil, and Berlin(A police officer), Second one is Manickam aka Shilpa, Jyothi, Rasukutty, and Berlin, The third one is Leela, Dhanasekaran, and Soori their son,and Mohan, the fourth and last one is about five friends Balaji, Soori, Mohan, Vasanth, and Thuyavan.
Two Deaths
The first story begins with Vaembu and Mugil, Vaembu’s marital life is not going good with Mugil hence she finds pleasure in her boyfriend and living happily. One day Vaembu doing sex with her boyfriend and mysteriously her boyfriend dies during sex. now Vaembu gets worried when Mugil returned back home he came to know everything. Vaembu accepts her relationship and the accidental death of her boyfriend during sex.
Mugil is not ready to surrender as it will spoil her image instead they thought of getting the dead body out of the town and while doing this they were caught by Berlin. Noe Berline wants sex with Vaembu as a deal to hid there crime. Unwillingly to save their lives Vaembu and Mugil agree and Berlin takes advantage of the situation and makes a move. as he approaches Vaembu television set falls on his head and he dies. Now they dispose of both the dead bodies. Mugil forgives Vaembu and they live happily with each other.
A Transwoman
The second story is of Shilpa, her family desperately wanted a reunion of Jyothi with her husband Manickam, Manickam is fleed from past seven years and after seven years one-day Manickam returned as a transwoman named Shilpa. The family shocked to see the transformation. Shilpa and Jyothi’s son Rasukutty takes Shipla to his school to show to the boys who used to taunt him that he is a test tube baby. Here Shilpa gets caught by police as they suspect her and Berlin takes advantage of the situation and tells her to give him a blow job. After the humiliation at the police station and school, Shilpa thought to return Mumbai and buys tickets. But hers on gets emotional on hearing his return so he decides to stay there and spend time with her family.
The Five Friends
The Friends story begins with all the boys’ gathered at Thuyavan’s home to watch porn. As the start to watch porn Soori sees her mother Leela in the porn and get very annoyed and angry and broke the television set and go out of the room. To console him Mohan follows him. Now Thuyavan is scared of his father because he broke the television so he decided to buy a new television set hence with the help of his friends he steals money from a Seth and buy a new one and throw away the old one and coincidentally it was the same television set which hit Berlin which resulted in his death.
Soori got Saved 2 Times
The last story begins with Soori wanted to kill Leela and try to stab her but accidentally stab himself and slips down. Hence he is admitted to hospital and his father is informed about the accident. His father Arputham is the only survivor of the tsunami and he believes firmly that God has saved him hence he devotes himself completely to god. He then brings Soori to his chapel believing that his prayer will cure him. Leela brings Soori in the hospital again but she is not able to manage the medical expenses of the hospital, Arputham tries to manage the money. The statue breaks accidentally and he finds diamonds in that hence he save Soori.
Review of Super Deluxe Movie Review
Another masterpiece and trendsetting movie from Thiagarajan Kumararaja. He has taken Tamil cinema to another level - has crafted a path-breaking movie. A worthy successor to Aaranya Kandam.
Story
Super Deluxe is the closest depiction to today’s society - hats off to the director for unabashedly sticking to reality. The movie deals with a lot of topics like the plight of transgender people in society, police brutality, sex, perversion, porn, god/religion, politics - the director handles all these topics with ease and aplomb. The movie is a dramedy - uses dark humor similar to the director’s previous movie. Also, he has used multiple pop culture references from Tamil & Hollywood movies.
Starcast Performance
Kudos to Vijay Sethupathi for pulling off another complicated character with ease. The man simply keeps delivering with each & every performance. Excellent performances from all the artists - Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Akkineni, Ramya Krishnan, Mysskin. Notable performances from the teenage boys as well - missed their names. However, I am hugely impressed by the small, innocent kid Ashwanth Ashokkumar - excellent performance at such a young age.
Bagavathi Perumal Performance: Another notable performance was from Bucks (Bagavathi Perumal) - his scenes were nauseating & spine-chilling - intended effect from the director again.
Yuvan’s Performance: Yuvan weaves his magic throughout the movie with smart references to Ilaiyaraaja’s old songs - also uses silence at appropriate places to capture the essence/mood of certain scenes.
Aaranya Kaandam’s Performance: It has been 8 years since Aaranya Kaandam. But if this the kind of path-breaking movies to be expected from this director, I wouldn’t mind waiting for many more years to watch his next project.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has given the music in Super Deluxe Movie. Thereee are only two tracks in the movie and both have received an average response from the audience.
