Full Movie Story of X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Jean Lost Her Parents

Jean Grey an eight-year-old girl in 1975 inadvertently uses her telekinesis and as a result that kills her parents in a car accident. After that incident professor, Xavier takes Jean to a School Of Gifted Youngsters and there he mentally blocks that car accident from Jean’s memory which helps her to hone psychic abilities. After many years, the X - Men responds to a distress signal from the space shuttle Endeavour in 1992. And it is severely and critically damaged by the solar flare like energy.

But the X men saves all the astronauts but Jean absorbs all the energy into her body. She luckily survived but her psychic powers amplified greatly in the event and moreover, the mental block which Xavier played is also destroyed. Jean accidentally attacks mutants after the mental breakdown. She then travels to her childhood home and there she finds out that her father is still alive X Men tries to take her home but she accidentally kills Raven and few local policemen before flying from there.

Jean Travel To Genosha

Here Jeans to control her powers travels to the island of Genosha to seek the help of Eric but he turned her away after Jean engaging in that combat with the U.S military which resulted in her arrest. Then she meets Vuk the leader of D’Bari who tells her that she is possessed by the cosmic power. Hank who is betrayed by Xavier manipulate Jean’s memory with the help of Eric and. When X -men come to know about Eric’s plan to kill Jean he confronted him and with his faction in Newyork.

And during their fight, Eric tries to infiltrate the building to confront Jean but she overpowered him with her new abilities. Meanwhile, Xavier arrives there with Scott summer and convinces Jean to read his memory. She tells Vuk to takeout the force from her. But doing so would kill Jean. Scott and Xavier prevent Vuk to fully absorb the force from Jean and meanwhile, U.S government captured Jean and place her into the train going towards the secret containment facility.

Jean Disappears

Here Xavier regrets and tells Hank that he lied to Jean and violated her mind. Then the train is attacked by Vuka and his D’Bari force and he overpowered the soldiers and the mutants get freed from the restraints. Here Xavier confers Jean’s mind to allow her to control her powers within her. Vuk again tries to take drain Jean of the force but she took Vuk into outer space and there she takes the stolen power from D’Bari which results in her death. She then disappears.

Review of X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Directed by Simon Kinberg Dark Phoenix is based on Marvel comics and the movie is too good… starting with the smashing car crash, leading to a very engaging and convincing conversation between little Jean and Charles, then proceeding to the Space scene, and the scenes soon after. The CGI and VFX are just amazing- everything felt so real!!! A visual delight!!

As for the acting… Sophie’s acting here is very proper and original, matching her character suitably, no reason to complain. She portrays the confused don’t-know-what’s-happening girl very nicely, and yet brings out the power within her in excellent ways. A pure delight to watch her!! Jessica Chastain did a great job as the mysterious villain Vuk.

Starcast Performance

All the characters did their actions in a great way, but I cannot help but mention the way James McAvoy acted in this movie… I was a tad disappointed with his portrayal. Even though his acting is always brilliant, in this movie, I felt his acting was a bit mechanical, probably could be due to the fact that Charles has grown more political, he enjoys the attention and the new-found popularity. As DP progresses, we see a growing resentment towards Charles and contradiction from his long-standing people like Raven and Hank as well as Storm. The tension among the Xmen characters is quite high here, especially when it’s all directed towards the Founder.

The Chemistry

All the scenes between Charles and Jean are of good chemistry, as it must be. However, I did miss the bromance between Charles and Erik!! But yes, there’s that game of Chess between them!! Out of the 4 Xmen movies that Michael and James have done together, this the movie where they share the least screen time or face-off together.
Would love to see more collaborations between James and Michael!! As always, they make wonderful “bromance.”

Music Review

Hans Zimmer’s music is just perfect!! Music plays a very important aspect of bringing alive a movie and Hans’ music for DP has done a perfect job of keeping the movie memorable.
