Thereee aren’t many actors in the industry who will present themselves for a film on the topic of homosexuality and this why Ayushmann Khurrana has generated an exclusive fanbase for himself in such a small period.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan cast includes Aman Tripathi played by Jitendra Kumar who can be recalled from his iconic role of Jitu Bhaiya in the web series Kota Factory and Kartik Singh played by Ayushmann Khurrana slowly and steadily fell in love with each other.
Their relationship was cherishing until they decided to return to their hometown. They cannot even imagine the state of their parents when they will get to hear about their homosexuality. Aman is stuck with his family’s expectations to marry Kusum and he is reluctant to tell his family about his homosexuality. They implemented a wide variety of ploys to give their parents a hint about their relationship but failed each time. Finally, in the climax, the confrontation worked well for them.
The comedy content of the film is on another level, this film will make you laugh hysterically not just once but time and again. The film tried surfacing the taboo sort of things related to gay relationships and we have to admit it managed to serve the purpose, even though it was soaked in satirical ways. The first half seems to be well woven and makes the audience stick to the edge of their seats, but the second half to me felt a bit overly dragged, it could have been a tad shorter.
The Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan songs are chartbusters. While Ayushmann was all energetic in his lead role Jitendra seemed like he was meant for the supporting role. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan works on a socially awkward topic and deserves your watch time for sure.
