Selfie is an upcoming Indian Tamil language action thriller film directed by new director Mathi Maran and produced by DG Film Company. The film stars G. V. Prakash Kumar, Gautam Vasudev Menon, and Varsha Bollamma with a supporting cast including Vidya Pradeep, Vagai Chandrasekhar, Sangili Murugan, and Subramaniam Siva. The music for the film was composed by G.V. Compiled by Prakash Kumar himself, Cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy, Editing by S. Elayaraja. The film has set to release in theaters on April 1, 2022.

Movie Story:
The character of Kanal was performed by GV Prakash Kumar is an engineering student whose father got forced admission to an infamous college. After realizing that broking seats for commission can make one rich quickly, he goes into business with his friends and quickly rises in the ranks. He gets into serious trouble at the same speed and one of his best friends dies. How he gets out of this mess forms the rest of the plot.

Movie Review:
Perhaps the biggest strength of the selfie is its screenplay and writing. The film does not waste much time getting into the narrative and the chosen premise is rarely mentioned in Tamil cinema. It analyzes the world of college-seat broking and how innocent parents are being deceived by the larger system that comprises college management. However, as the film reaches its climax, the grip has lost and the ending appears to be written comfortably. Engagement also faces the same fate - until the second half, when the film is most appealing. But in the end, the movie becomes a bit predictable.
Technically, the film is strong in the music and edit segment. The jump cuts stood cleverly used by editor Elaya Raja. The nature of the cuts also depends on the trajectory of the image. The music of GV Prakash supported the film very well and the background score used for the role of Ravi Varma (GVM) was interesting and witty. In contrast, visual quality may be better, especially when it comes to lighting. Overall, Selfie has strong content, excellent performances of leads, and a strong emotional base. Other technical departments also make a point to cover up the flaws.
