Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014) Review:

Despite the amount of criticism that the Paranormal Activity franchise received over the past few years, I still quite enjoy the series, apart from the Paranormal Activity 4 which was close from being the worst film I ever saw. The good news is that this fifth opus of the series brings a lot of improvement.

First and most important of all, there is a decent story (Hallelujah!). The scenario happens in parallel to the previous movies and cross-check them in a clever way. The rest is some basic Paranormal Activity action, maybe a little less scary than the first movie, but still decent. The fact that things happen in a Spanish community gives a nice touch of novelty to the series. It nevertheless remains clear, because of the tone of the dialogues and the main characters, that the movie is aimed at a teenager audience.

I would recommend this fifth episode only to those who enjoyed the previous Paranormal Activity movies. It is one of the best movie of the franchise for me, after the third one.
