Gremlins 2 (1990) Review:

With the release of Gremlins in 1984, Joe Dante set up the foundation for what was to become one of the most ingenious, extravagant and entertaining sequels in horror cinema.

Everything is bigger in comparison to the original (which is exactly what is expected from a sequel): there are more gremlins, more death, more jokes and most importantly more gremlins species. As someone who loves monsters, this movie is one of the most satisfying watches I ever experienced back when I was a kid. Gremlins-spider, gremlins-electric, gremlins-woman, gremlins-bat, the list goes on and gives the movie a huge re-watch potential.

The first Gremlins movie already had quite a lot of comedy in it, but it was all a little cheesy. Here in comparison, the humor is quite spot on, with many in-jokes and other crazy party moments. The gremlins are actually quite likable here, something I prefer to the first movie because I like to see some kind of moral in this movie, about how human focus on technology and forget to have raw fun.

Like the first Gremlins movie, this one feels does feel a little long towards the end, but that is the only reason I could come up with not to give that movie the perfect rating.
