For the second time in this still young new year Screen Gems has put a number one film into the theatres. Various sources are reporting that the remake of When A Stranger Calls will be topping the box office on its opening weekend. Although the official numbers wont be in until later this afternoon it is expected that the film will rake in somewhere around $22 million, a record opening for a Superbowl weekend.
Screen Gems other entry, Underworld: Evolution hit a few weeks ago and has pulled in over $50 million.
A nice strong opening for the genre. Gotta love it.
