Horror House on Highway 5 (1986)
173 minutes
Unrated
Starring Phil Therrien, Max Manthey, Irene F.
Directed by Richard Casey
Amazon.com Description: A van full of college students traveling down a highway is terrorized by a psycho killer in a Richard Nixon mask.
Cavett Binion - All Movie Guide: "The misleading promotional materials for this direct-to-video slasher dud describe it as an over-the-top parody involving a family of psycho serial killers, similar to the cannibal kin of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, whose patriarch is less a "Leatherface" than a "Nixonface," as he frequently dons a rubber mask of the former president when doing his murderous deeds. The movie's satire is so muddled by an incoherent script and amateurish direction that any potential for macabre humor is wasted. It's not sleazy enough to qualify as exploitation; the only ones being exploited here are the film's financial backers and any would-be video renters suckered in by the video's goofy cover art."
DVD Special Features include: History of Hollywood horror films, including the Horror House original theatrical trailer
