Chopping Mall (1986) Review:
This cheesy teen horror from the early ’80s is a classic of the horror comedy genre.
Storywise, the plot is almost inexistent. The characters are the usual teens that want to have sex and party, and the villain a couple of robots made with tin cans and a couple of LED lights. Nevertheless, the film is quite fun to watch – partly because of the cool robots, and partly because the film really does not take itself seriously. Like a parody, without really being one, Chopping Mall is filled with really stupid moments that are “so bad that it almost good”. Still, in the end, the film is not funny enough to compensate for its predictable and repetitive aspect, making it a rather old-looking, slow-paced, horror cheesy movie.
