Story of Drishtikone
Jion Lost His Eye Vision
This a suspense thriller movie and revolves around the main character of the movie name Jion (Prosenjit Chatterjee) who is an advocate by profession and living a very simple, decent and down to earth life with his wife Rumki( Churni Ganguly). Jion loves her wife very much so as Rumki hence they are living a happy married life with each other. But the only problem in their life is Jion has lost vision of both his eyes because of the rare infection in cornea and he is unable to see anything. This the story of Jion and his wife the two main character of the movie now let’s move to the most important character of the movie that is Srimoti ( Rituparna Sengupta).
A Childless Couple
Srimoti (Rituparna Sengupta) is a beloved wife of Polash Sen (Kaushik Sen) who is one of the best and renowned ophthalmologists of the city. Both Polash and Srimoti love each other very much and living a happy married life but they have also a problem as they are a childless couple. Srimoti feels very bad for Polash never makes her feel bad and loves her so much and expresses and showers his love on Srimoti every day. but still deep inside Srimoti is sad for not being a mother.
Polash Dies In a Car Accident
As Polash and Srimoti living a happy life here come the twist in Srimoti’s life when Polash dies in a very dangerous car accident. Srimoti’s world shattered by his beloved husband’s death. Polash elder brother Pritom(Kaushik Ganguly) also paralyzed to his waist down in the same accident feels guilty for the accident and death of his brother Polash. He is spending his life in total guilt that Polash dies just because of him but he is unaware of the truth and fact that actually is not guilty of Polash’s death and he is innocent. It revealed later in the movie as the story progresses.
Jion Gets His Eyesight
As the renowned and one of the best ophthalmologist of Kolkata, and as a responsible doctor it was Polash’s wish to donate his eye hence his eye is being donated to Jion and after a successful Cornea implant now Jion is able to see the world and its colors but only from one eye. He is very happy to have that eye vision and very thankful to Polash and Srimoti. And thissue always there in Srimoti’s mind that His husband’s eye is donated to Jion as he loves her husband the most. Jion is a successful advocate Srimoti hires him to be his advocate to investigate Polash’s death and that accident.
Srimoti Wants To Make Relation With Jion
Here Srimoti is very lonely now and remembering her husband all the time and the fact that Jion has Polash’s eye and she loves her husband madly. This attracts her toward Jion and she gets tilted towards him and wanted to make physical relations with him but they all are married. But Jion cares for her as she is his client and she is going through the mental trauma. Srimoti finds few events connected to Jion Rukmi’s life hence she takes Jion permission to involve in their family as a family friend. Jion doesn’t want to leave or cheat his wife but shows soft corner for Srimoti too and they came closer to each other as Jion also shows his romantic side of her. When Rukimi comes to know about this she confronts Jion for the sake of his married life and kids but Jion keeps silence only.
Jion Solved The Case
As Jion investigate the case he comes to know about the involvement of Pritom, As the whole story is about the Human Organ Racketing, on which both the brother have conflict and difference of opinion over which Pritom hit Polash in an accident which resulted in on the spot death. And everyone comes to know the reality. In the end, Srimoti also feels that what she is doing is wrong and she tells Jion to go back to his wife and live a happy life.

Drishtikone - A movie directed by Mr. Kaushik Ganguly starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta, Kaushik Ganguly himself, wife Churni Ganguly & Kaushik Sen is a Masterpiece. Such an Out of the Box Film is 1st ever in Bengali Cinema. Every Artist of the movie is just simply fabulous in their Roles. The Cinematography of the Film was Superb. The two songs written by Anupam Roy had already been Viral even before the release of the Film. Overall it is a Good film to watch out with Family & Friends.
Everyone must once visit and watch this film.watched this movie just recently and I just loved it. A very smart and intelligent movie. Very different from today’s typical Bengali movies. The story is very well executed by the actors, each one played their character so appropriately. It’s a movie which will make you think, use the brain and enjoy the movie, and the best part is after you’ve finished watching it, it’ll still play in your mind. The songs are nice, I loved ‘lokkhiti’ song. The singer has a very fresh voice and the Bengali lyrics are good.
Overall I think those who like thrillers will enjoy this movie.
