Jolly LLB 2 opened with good footfalls in the theatres. On the first day, the film collected 13.20 crores and on the second day, it has increased around 17.31 crores. Jolly LLB 2 Story
A Lucknow based lawyer Jolly (Akshay Kumar) living with his wife Pushpa( Huma Qureshi) and a son. In spite of being a lawyer, he is working as a subservient and menial assistant to the city’s one of the most famous lawyer Mr. Rizvi. His father also served 30 years of his life assisting Mr.Rizvi so Jolly is also following his father’s path. Jolly though is not a successful lawyer but he dreams of his own chamber and wants to do his own law practice and he does not have a sufficient amount of money for that. So to arrange that money he lied to a widow Hina Qasim by telling her the lie that Mr. Rizvi will take her case and his fee is Rs.200,000. She arranged the money somehow and gives to Jolly but later realized that Jolly has lied to her and made her fool. She commits suicide.
Jolly Feels Guilty
Now jolly is bee taunted by everyone for what he did with Hina and he also starts feeling guilty for Hina’s death. He comes to know that Hina’s husband Qasim Iqbal lost his life in police’s fake encounter on the next day of his marriage with Hina. Inspector Suryaveer Singh is the officer who killed Iqbal and also shot dead a constable Bhadouria to show it a real encounter. Singh showed Iqbal Qasim as terrorist Mohammed Iqbal Quadri and killed him.
Justice For Hina
After knowing all the truth and filled with guilt Jolly decides to fight for Hina’s case hence he filed PIL. Here Singh also in his defense hired a very renowned and famous lawyer Pramod Mathur ( Annu Kapoor) to fight his case. In first hearing only Mathur rebuke and reproof Jolly’s PIL for his mistakes and not credible evidence. Justice Sunderlal Tripathi warns Jolly to collect some credible proofs and give the next date of hearing.
Jolly’s Struggle For Truth
Jolly goes to Varanasi and with the help of bookie, he got a copy of FIR and other important papers regarding the case. Then he meets constable Bhadouria’s son. Here Mathur with the power of his money temper with the video of narco test of the witness and trap Jolly into this. For misleading the court by showing false evidence the judge takes disciplinary action against jolly and Rizvi, chairman of the disciplinary committee gives jolly 4 days time to prove himself right and true.
Do Or Die Situation
To win the case for Hina and to prove himself innocent Jolly travels to Kashmir to get the confirmation from a constable Fahim Butt, who visited in Hina’s and Iqbal’s wedding to identify the terrorist. But Fahim is also got arrested in the fake case because he knows the reality that Iqbal Qasim wasn’t the terrorist, in fact, he filed a complaint against Singh also but he got arrested in a fake case.
Jolly Escapes
Jolly escapes with Fahim from police custody for revealing the truth in court and threatens Police commissioner Paul to accept the truth otherwise he will file PIL against him also for all his fake encounters. Here Mathur did his best to stop Jolly to present Fahim before the court but somehow Jolly manages to bring Fahim in the court.
The Final Courtroom Combat
Now Fahim gives his statement and tell the truth before the court and then with the help of Paul Jolly presents the real terrorist Quadri who fakes his identity as a Brahmin pandit. Jolly traps him in a clever conversation by asking him rapid questions regarding Shastras to which he fails and finally he accepts that he is the real terrorist. Hence judge declares Iqbal Qasim innocent and punishes all those who are involved in the false case.
Review of Jolly LLB 2
Written and directed by Subhash Kapoor and produced by Fox Star studios Jolly LLB 2 is based on a social and national issue that is Indian corrupt system whether it’s the judicial system or police force or a political bureaucracy. A handful of honest and upright officials have to pay for the corrupt system. Many have lost their lives due to the flaws of the system in reality also. Though the director kept the screenplay light and didn’t give an intense turn it’s our responsibility also to understand what the movie wants to convey.
Starcast Performance
Akshay Kumar a versatile actor started his career as an action hero and then gave back to back flops in a row but true talent never goes in vain. He proved with his hard work, dedication, and determination that he is the real Khiladi of Bollywood. Whether its action movie, comedy, based on a real incident or a social message giver movie Akshay fits in all genres. He enhanced Jolly’s character with the shades of his acting brilliantly.
Huma Qureshi a model turn actress though didn’t have much to do in the movie as Joll’s wife as the movie revolves around Jolly only but in that small presence of her, she acknowledges his acting skills.
Annu Kapoor, another versatile veteran character actor who started his career with theatre and television and created the magic of his acting and simultaneously doing extremely well on silver screen also.
Music Review
Manj Musik, Meet brothers and Chirantan Bhatt are the music producer of the movie. Thereee are 4 songs in the movie sung by Raftaar, Neeti Mohan, Meet Brothers, Shabbir Ahmed but the Qawwali sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Murtuza “ O Rangrezza” is an absolute treat to ears.
