As the remake of Day of the Dead gears up for production the news is beginning to flow. Over the last few days a couple of our fellow media outlets have had updates on what the project is up too.
Bloody Disgusting got the exclusive news yesterday that Ving Rhames has agreed to star in the remake. Who would ever have guessed that Mr. Rhames would become Zombie Ass Kicker in chief. Here is the report from BD:
Today Bloody-Disgusting received word from a very reliable source that Ving Rhames has been cast in the film, specifically to link the film to Uni's Dawn remake. In addition, Mira Sorvino (Mimic) will be joining him. The film will be shooting in or around Bulgaria or Romania this month. Steve Miner directs off a script by Jeffrey Redd|ick (Tamara).
Then later today Fango posted this little tidbit:
Fango got a quick update from screenwriter Jeffrey (TAMARA) Reddick about the DAY OF THE DEAD remake he has scripted for Millennium Films and Emmet/Furla Films. "The official start date for principal photography on DAY OF THE DEAD has been set for July 23," he tells us. "Everyone involved is extremely excited about the project. They're in the process of casting as we speak. Millennium and Emmet/Furla Films will be announcing the cast soon, and they've landed some really great, high-profile names for the film."
So, lets see what this one brings us. Collectively as horror fans we all screamed when they announced the Dawn remake and that ended up pretty good so well have to see what Mr. Miner does with this one. Keep it right here for the latest.
