Finally it is released. It has seemed
like ages since I first told you about BEHIND THE MASK and Tuesday
Anchor Bay releases it on DVD and now you will be able to see for
yourself why this might just be the best, most original horror
release of the last few years.
I know I have talked about this film in
great detail before so I won't waste your time going over all the
cool points again but I do want to remind you that is is in stores
everywhere Tuesday June 26th and it is an absolute must
own title for all who call themselves a horror fan.
You may remember that Anchor Bay
attempted to release BEHIND THE MASK in a very limited theatrical run
last fall but theaters are not what Anchor Bay does best, they do DVD
and they do it right and they have hit another home run with this
one.
Loaded with extras and presented as
only Anchor Bay can do BEHIND THE MASK is destined to become a staple
title in any fans collection, right up there with RE-ANIMATOR and
ARMY OF DARKNESS. It's that damn good!
Here's the official rundown of the
story and what the disc holds:
|
You know legendary maniacs Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers and
Freddy Krueger. Now meet Leslie Vernon, the next great
psycho-slasher. Nathan Baesel of INVASION stars as Vernon, a
good-natured killing machine who invites a documentary film crew
to follow him as he reminisces with his murder mentor (Scott
Wilson of IN COLD BLOOD), evades his psychiatrist/nemesis (Robert
Englund of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET), deconstructs Freudian
symbolism, and meticulously plots his upcoming slaughter spree.
But when the actual carnage begins, where do you draw the line
between voyeuristic thrills, mythic evil, and good old- fashioned
slasher movie mayhem? Angela Goethals (24) and Zelda Rubinstein
(POLTERGEIST) co-stars in this ingeniously twisted and
awardwinning shocker that Film Threat hails as a masterpiece
.
