The second annual Texas Fear Fest convention will arrive in Dallas, TX on Friday, March 7 and last until Sunday, March 9, 2008.  It will take place at the The Westin Park Central Hotel at 12720 Merit Drive, Dallas, Texas 75251 (phone: (972) 385-3000) which is 17 miles from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.  Until February 15 the rooms are discounted so make your plans pronto!

This convention begins on Friday evening, although dealers can move their merchandise in on Friday beginning at 10am until 6pm.  Dealer rooms will be available to the public on Saturday from 10am to 7pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

The Alamo Drafthouse and the Rolling Roadshow will present Friday Night Frights which consists of screenings that begin at 6pm on Friday evening and run until the wee hours of the morning.  First up is A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984) in 35mm at dusk!  Following the screening to discuss this brilliant low-budget American horror film that began a lucrative franchise and launched Robert Englund into stardom are (schedules permitting) Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp, John Saxon, Ronee Blakely, Nick Corri, and Amanda Wyss.  This event is worth the price of admission alone!

Next up is FRIGHT NIGHT in 35mm with special guest hosts director Tom Holland, Chris Sarandon, and Stephen Geoffreys, schedules permitting, with a Q & A session to follow.
The evening will end with
TROLL 2 in 35mm at midnight with special guest hosts Michael Paul Stephenson, George Hardy, and Darren Ewing schedules permitting, with a Q & A session to follow.

The events for Saturday and Sunday, such as panel discussions and film screenings which are still in the process of being determined, will be posted on February 29th, but so far Saturday evening will consist of a concert of Michael Graves of The Misfits, The Razorblade Dolls from Dallas, TX and The Horrifics from Haltom City, TX.  Also on hand will be First Jason featuring a special Black Friday presentation with director Ethan Terra and a surprise guest from the film.  There will also be a midnight screening of BLACK DEVIL DOLL, the X-rated and “over 18-only” remake of the VHS bootleg BLACK DEVIL DOLL FROM HELL.

As for Sunday, more info will be posted here at House of Horrors.com as we get closer to the convention date.

The guest list is shaping up to be pretty amazing.  In addition to the A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET crew, there will be cast members from the third and fourth ELM STREET films; Linnea Quigley, Beverly Randolph, and Jewel Shepard of THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD; a reunion of the actors who played Jason Voorhees; Neil Marshall will be talking about his new film DOOMSDAY and will be accompanied by his wife horror-writer Axelle Carolyn Marshall who writes for IGN among other sites and publications.  Of course, the FRIGHT NIGHT cast will also be on hand, including William Ragsdale in his first convention.  Giovanni Lombardo Radice, better know Stateside as John Morghen, is due to make his first US convention appearance.  Radice has made a name for himself appearing in everything from Antonio Margheriti's CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE to several of Michele Soavi's films to the remake of THE OMEN.  Among others will be Hanna Hall, Daeg Farch, Nick Mennell, Adam Weisman, and Jenny Gregg Stewart from Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN.

Guests and events are still be added so be sure to order tickets and make your arrangements now!
