I'm sure that some of you that take the
time to watch the Anchor Bay release of THE COOK will find a reason
to like it. For me I'm afraid I found it a bit boring and
predictable.
The film bills itself as a horror
comedy and I found it was not particularly good as either. The
storyline is pretty basic stuff. The cook for a sorority goes on
vacation and the girls need someone to make their meals for them.
Enter THE COOK a foreign male who no one an understand but looks good
enough that the horny young girls don't question his background.
Of course the girls start disappearing
one by one but the girls don't really seem to mind because the food
is just damn good. Yep, as you would suspect THE COOK is killing off
the girls and then frying them up for the survivors.
The one and only reason to even bother
popping this one into the DVD player is the ample nudity. Hot
college chicks baring it all. Pretty bad when that's the only reason
I can find to tell you to watch this one.
Here's the official press release that
outlines the film:
What
happens when you mix low-brow dorm humor, with heaping helpings of
nudity, a dash of involuntary cannibalism and simmer for a couple of
hours? Anchor Bay Entertainment, the leading gourmands of gore,
present their next feast of terror with The Cook,
arriving on DVD April 1st. Youd be a fool to resist
such a tasty blend, especially when the DVD comes with a buffet of
bonus features!
.
Bon appetit!
Its
a long holiday weekend at the Lambda Epsilon Zeta sorority house, and
a handful of girls stay behind to indulge in three days of partying,
sex games and strangely delicious meals prepared by the weird new
chef. But as the sisters begin to disappear one-by-one, the
remaining coeds find themselves trapped in a nightmare of graphic
slaughter as they wonder who will wind up next on the menu! Mark
Hengst (Alias, Miss Congeniality 2), Makinna Ridgway and
Kit Paquin (Ugly Betty, Entourage) star with a bounty of
beauties in this blood-spattered black comedy that cuts like a knife,
tastes like chicken and serves up a scrumptious feast of carnage
whipped up by
The Cook
