In speaking to Rob Zombie a month
ago, he expressed little interest in a HALLOWEEN DVD that would restore much
that ended up on the cutting room floor.
Fortunately, since the film has broken box office records, there is now
talk that the upcoming Dimension Home Entertainment DVD of HALLOWEEN will
include a wealth of extras, including a lengthy documentary shot during the
making of the film on a par with the feature-length 30 DAYS IN HELL documentary
that accompanied THE DEVILS REJECTS DVD.
The DVD is said to include a good amount of deleted material, such as
more footage with Udo Kier and Clint Howard and the Adrienne Barbeau
scene. There will also be more fencing
between Michael Myers and Dr. Loomis in the sanitarium sequence.
There will also be a practical joke that Rob Zombie played
on Malcolm McDowell, one that pissed Malcolm off quite a bit.
No word yet on the street date of this disc, but I can
hardly wait to see it.
