Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction: Miami Man Witnesses Cannibal Attack By THE FAN GIRL NEXT DOOR
May 29, 2012, 9:43

Miami resident Larry Vega was treated to something sinister during a Saturday afternoon bike ride, he witnessed a zombie-style attack on an off-ramp of MacArthur Causeway in Miami.
George Romero wasn't there to yell, "cut!" when Vega witnessed a naked man eating away at the face of another man.
Vega told WSVN TV in Miami that the naked man in incapacitated another man and "was ripping his skin, his neck. He had him held down. The guy couldn't move really, and he was just tearing into his flesh,".
Vega quickly flagged down a police officer who was forced to shoot and kill the bare perpetrator after repeated attempts were made to get the man to stop.
"The guy just stood his head up like that, with a piece of flesh in his mouth, and growled," Vega said.
It is the consensus that the naked man was homeless and on drugs.
Understandably, Vega is still shaken, "You see these things in the movies but when you see it up front and up close, it's pretty traumatic. It really is".
The victim of the attack is in critical condition at a Miami hospital.

BLADE RUNNER Sequel Is Officially On: Scott Wants Harrison Ford To Return By THE FAN GIRL NEXT DOOR
May 29, 2012, 9:19
The long talked about sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 revolutionary BLADE RUNNER is officially happening. The director recently confirmed new details on the project. It has been revealed that the movie will be set a few years after the first one concluded and it is also exciting to note that original co-writer Hampton Fancher is involved.
Director Ridley Scott
Producers Andrew Kosovoe and Broderick Johnson recently revealed that "It is a perfect opportunity to reunite Ridley with Hampton on this new project - one in fact inspired by their own personal collaboration [and] a classic of cinema if there ever was one."
If your head isn't ready to explode yet, get this, Scott is wanting original lead actor Harrison Ford to appear in the film. Said Scott recently: "I don't think it'll be Harrison [starring]. But I've got to have him in it somewhere. That'd be amusing."
In my opinion, it would be a wonderful and a somewhat touching tribute to the original film.
Keep it on House of Horrors for further developments on this story and for horror news, interviews and reviews.
We've talked about the remake a lot. Probably given it more attention than any other remake of the last several years but the more I see, the more I like this one.
MANIAC is one sick ass story and man it sure looks like for this remake, they embraced the crazy! I haven't kept my thoughts on the casting of Elijah Wood in the role made infamous by Joe Spinell. I have questioned it since day one but again, everything I'm seeing looks stellar.
Tonight I've got the full bloody drenched trailer for you. It's a pretty disturbing piece of work.
Story wise, there seem to be sticking pretty close to the original:
Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for
scalps is back and on the hunt. Frank is the withdrawn owner of a
mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears
asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship
develops and Frank's obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has
unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.
There hasn't been any announced release info yet but the film just played Cannes so I'm guessing someone should be picking this one up in pretty short order so keep it here, when the info hits I'll pass it along.
Remember this one is most definitely NSFW so turn the volume down and lock your office door.
William Peter Blatty's classic THE EXORCIST will get a reboot in the form of a 10-episode TV miniseries which reportedly will concentrate on the events leading up to Regan's demonic possession.
Although it is unknown which network will pick it up, Sean Durkin (MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE) will write and direct while Roy Lee (THE DEPARTED) will produce.
It also looks like our little Regan will be Broadway bound this summer when John Doyle's stage adaptation of THE EXORCIST opens at Los Angeles' own Geffen Playhouse on July 11.
To add even more surrealism to the mix, Brooke Shields and Richard Chamberlain will play Chris MacNeil and Father Merrin, respectively. Of course horror fans will know those roles were played by Ellen Burstyn and Max von Sydow in the classic 1973 film adaptation.
If you're thinking of bringing plastic tarps to shield yourself from projectile green pea soup, think again, playwright John Pielmeier says they'll leave all of that out
"The story of the battle between faith and evil needed no spinning heads or green vomit," Pielmeier said. "The horror should unfold instead on a simple set with an incredible cast (which we absolutely have), and the central conflict between doubting Father Karras and the demon should be a series of debates, in which the young girl possessed is the least of the figures present."
Sounds completely pointless but we'll see. Keep it here on HOUSE OF HORRORS for further developments on this and other horror news and reviews.
