When we talk about the Best Horror Movies of 2012, it’s like plucking the rare flowers from the heap of garbage. There were tons of movies that were dumped in 2012, obviously not every movie was worth sparing your time. There is obviously a big chunk of difference between a cheap thrill movie and a serious horror movie that will make your evening. When you are down with the wear and tear of a long working day and are looking for a nerve chilling horror and not a cheap thrill horror that will only add to your stress level.

After an hour of the storyline, the plot takes a unique twist when Bunny regains her consciousness and discovers that the truck driver has encased her head in a tight and white leather rabbit mask while he wears a similar hog mask.

Sinister is a supernatural/horror film. It was directed and co-written by Scott Derrickson. The story is about true-crime writer Ellison Oswalt ( Hawke ) whose discovery in his new house’s attic of a box of home movies taping horrifying murders puts his family in danger.
It’s the dark mystery of their new house that keeps the audience gripped by it. It has a typically implausible horror movie behavior which delivers countless scream – out – loud moments. E! named it the best movie in the horror genre in 2012. You don’t often see a movie from Ireland making this far, but Sinister has got what it takes to be in this countdown.

The movie features four criminals who make a living by taping their foolish acts and uploading them online. They are hired by an unknown personality to steal a VHS tape from an abandoned old house. This accounts for the pivotal moment in the movie, the group makes the most incorrect decision they could have made by agreeing to the job.
When they get inside the home, they find dozens of more videos and a dead pensioner. Now they must find the video they are asked to steal, so to find the original tape, they start watching each VHS one by one. What they see on the tape seems hard to believe. Would it cost them more than what they asked for?
The Bay

The story takes place in the town of Claridge, Maryland where an unknown disease creates havoc during its annual Festival. People living in that town become sick, exhibiting a spread of symptoms. After researching the issue, the local news authorities suspect something infecting the water. Everybody was clueless about what it is or how it’s transmitted. Affected people started behaving strangely and some of them even died. This creates fear in the town and it’s shut down by the government.
The authorities even confiscate the video footage and try to cover up the news. However, a local reporter who witnessed the whole epidemic documented, assembled, and hid the footage with the hope that one day, the horrible truth would be revealed. Surely this movie will keep you at bay for its entire duration.
Chernobyl Diaries

You heard of Chernobyl right? Of course, the place that is famous for that nuclear incident. A group of friends named Chris, Natalie, and Amanda planned a vacation to Europe. After discussing several places to visit, they end up deciding to go to Chernobyl first. They also hire a tourism guide named Uri to explore the place in a better way. Uri explains to them about the radiation levels in the area. He can only take them to Pripyat, a deserted city very near to Chernobyl.
While on their way, they pass by a military checkpoint where they’re asked to return back. However, Uri finds an alternate route to the town and the group spends the day taking photographs. Suddenly, Uri becomes nervous and decides to take the group back home. However, their vehicle doesn’t start and they discover that the engine has been sabotaged.

After 5 years of this incident, a healthy family with a child named Alex lives in the same house.
After a mysterious accident, Alex’s family become temporary caretakers of Robbie, a strange child living next door. When Alex fell asleep, her webcam started recording paranormal activities that started happening after Robbie arrived at home.

Clyde’s friend who was a university professor told him that this wooden box used to contain dybbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours a human host.

One day, Frank meets a woman named Lucie on a dating site. They go for dinner together where Lucie attempts to seduce Frank. However, she isn’t aware of the psychotic nature of frank. Frank is least interested in the date or the charm of the girl, all he has in his mind is to hunt his next victim down. Maniac is one of the best top horror movies from 2012.
