SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT, the notorious "killer Santa" horror film which made the protagonist go out to "punish" those who were naughty, is getting a re-release in movie theatres. Originally released on November 9, 1984 (the same day as A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET) by TriStar Pictures, Inc., the film received much media attention and condemnation from picketing mothers, in addition to critics Siskel and Ebert (you can see their negative review here on Youtube) condemning the film as anti-Christmas and sick, and demanded that it be removed from theatres. TriStar Pictures, unhappy with the backlash, did just that. This did not stop the film from coming to home video and spawning multiple sequels, however.

The digital screenings begin on Wednesday, December 4th and run through until December 17th.  Click here to find out where the film will be playing in your area.
