From HouseofHorrors.com Recent News Jackie Earle Haley, the silver screen's new incarnation of Robert Englund's child murderer Fred Krueger, recently reported that he has signed on to portray the evil one in two sequels - and the remake hasn't even been completed yet! Platinum Dunes' remake of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET will be released on April 16, 2010.
The opening weekend box office receipts of newly-remade horror fare from years past has made it a no-brainer to revist classic horror films (and some not-so-classic) of our childhood and put a contemporary spin on them. The most obvious introductions into these newly made terror trips is the modern day computer and cell phones, tools that were never available to victims out at Camp Crystal Lake or Elm Street or Haddonfield, IL. There is little reason to believe that the new version of Wes Craven's classic 1984 horror film won't be lucrative if the box office receipts of the remake of FRIDAY THE 13TH are any gauge of box office profitability.
