DVD Review: MOH: We All Scream For Ice Cream
By Dave Dreher

*Spoilers Ahead*

Just how in the hell can you make ice cream evil.  Seems impossible?  Not if you're a Master Of Horror.

Directed by Tom Holland and written for the screen by David J. Schow based on a story by John Farris this one should be a home run.

And it is!

This one tells the story of Buster the clown.  He's the local dude who drives around  and sells ice cream to the kids  from the ice cream truck.  Back in the day he was all the rage with the kids, traveling around all summer performing tricks and selling frozen treats to all the kiddies.

Now it's some 30 years later and one by one the kids in the neighborhood (now all adults, duh) are dying off, not so much dying actually but kind of well, melting.

Through a series of flashbacks we learn the horrible back story of what happened one long summer day and it seems that Buster the clown may be back  handing out treats to the kids but this time the treats he are handing out are to the children of that first generation and what happens when those tasty treats are consumed is well, ooey, gooey fun.

The acting and effects are great.  The story is strange but with Hollands ability to drive character and the great performances turned in by all involved you quickly find yourself wrapped into the fates of all those invovled.  A must for such an odd story to work on any level.

How can you not love an evil clown and this one is about as evil as they come.  Wonderfully portrayed by William Forsythe the character of Buddy is an instant classic and a performance that is a must see.

A very nice Making Of feature is included as well as the usual commentary tracks and also a reel highlighting the very cool visual effects in this one.

A strong entry into the series and must have addition to your collection.

We all scream for this one.
