Englund To Get The Chair

The folks over at THC got on the phone with Robert Englund to chat about the upcoming release of 2001 Maniacs and during that chat Englund talked up a new project that sounds like it might be interesting. Englund has a bit of a record of talking about things a little before he should so take all this with a grain of salt. Here is the report from THC:
…this story is about a project that Robert’s involved in now. No, it’s not Freddy Vs. Jason 2 so don't ask. What it is is a return to the director’s chair, a seat Englund has not occupied since 1989’s 976-EVIL. The film is called Killer Pad, and is being produced by Wayne Rice, producer of one of Englund’s favorite movies, Suicide Kings.
"We’re doing a comedy/horror hybrid," he told me "the cast is coming together now, there’s a good chance Lin Shaye may be in it as well as some of the kids from Maniacs" No one's been signed on pemenentaly as of yet, but Robert was enthusiastic abouut those who've agreed to come on board.
The plot of Killer Pad sounds like a bloody good time waiting to happen; “Basically it’s about three white guys from the Midwest who come to Hollywood to get laid and partake in everything they’ve seen on MTV and VH1…" he explained. "Eventually they get tricked by you know who into buying a killer pad in the Hollywood Hills, which is also a portal to hell!"
Sounds pretty good eh? Keep it here and we’ll let you know if anything comes from all of this.
