This film seemed to be real popular with all the young girls out there. I didn’t get a chance to see it when it was at the cineplex but soon it will be making its way to DVD so we can all check it out. Here are all the details you need on the DVD release of The Covenant:
On January 2, 2007, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the action-packed, supernatural thriller The Covenant on DVD and Blu-Ray. Directed by Renny Harlin (Exorcist: The Beginning, Die Hard 2) and produced by the team behind Underworld, The Covenant will be available for $28.95 SLP/$19.95 MAP for DVD and $38.95 SLP/$26.95 MAP for Blu-Ray.
The Covenant features a cast of rising young stars, including Steven Strait (Sky High), Sebastian Stan (All Fall Down, Red Doors), Laura Ramsey (Lords of Dogtown, She’s the Man) and Taylor Kitsch (Snakes on a Plane, TV’s "Friday Night Lights") as well as Wendy Crewson (TV’s "24") as descendants of the original Salem witches. Having inherited their ancestor’s supernatural powers, they have the ability to defy gravity and perform superhuman feats of strength. However, each use of these powers causes them to age prematurely – making their talents dangerous not only to their enemies but also to themselves.
The soundtrack to The Covenant features a score by tomandandy (Killing Zoe, Rules of Attraction, The Hills Have Eyes) and songs by White Zombie, Jules X and Rob Zombie.
Synopsis
Privilege and beauty abound at Spenser Academy, a New England boarding school for the region’s reigning elite. Directed by Renny Harlin, The Covenant tells the story of the Sons of Ipswich, four young students bound by their sacred ancestry. As descendants of the original families who settled in Ipswich Colony in the 1600s, the boys have all been born with special powers. When a fifth descendant suddenly moves to town, secrets begin to unravel which threaten to break the covenant of silence that has protected their families for hundreds of years.
The Covenant DVD will be enhanced by special features such as director’s commentary and a behind the scenes featurette and will be packaged in an eye-catching foil o-ring.
