Dismembered Thoughts: Rebel Meets Rebel
By Dave Dreher

Sometimes as I sift through the stuff the comes in from various sources I come across something that is not really horror related but still cool enough that I feel the need to make you aware of it.  Horror and Metal music have gone hand in hand for quite a while and this kind of falls into that category.  So, with that being said, if you’re looking for something horror related, skip on by this but if you’re looking for something really cool, keep on reading.

Dimebag Darrell was the guitarist for Pantera.  He was also the guitarist for Damage Plan.  He was killed on stage in Columbus Ohio by a wacko fan.  It seems that Dimebag had been working on a project the last few years called Rebel Meets Rebel in which Dimebag and his former Pantera buddies, working under the name Cowboys from Hell team up with David Allen Coe, a renegade country music artist.  What they have created is a musically event that is worthy of all of our attention.  I have been fortunate enough to receive an advance copy of the disc and I have to tell ya, it is one of the finest CD’s to come out in quite some time.  I really don’t know how to describe this disc to you.  It is a melding of 2 musical styles that really shouldn’t work but shit, it is awesome.

From the opening riff on Nothing to Lose till the last note on N.Y.C. Streets this album grabs you by the throat and does not let go.  Dimebag was an incredible musician and this collection shows just how much music was taken from us that horrible night in Columbus Ohio.  I can not stress enough to you that you need to run out and find this album.

12 tracks of pure magic is what you will find when you unwrap this disc.  I have only heard a few albums of music that from the moment I heard them I knew it was something special.  Rebel Meets Rebel has found itself a place on that list.

A really cool website has been posted for this project and by clicking here you will be taken there and you can listen to some of the songs from the disc, see some great pics and read all about this collaboration that is sure to amaze, confuse and delight fans all at the same time.

Cool cover art for the CD too don’t ya think.

Like I said, not horror but cool as hell none the less.  Go out and buy this disc and get ready to rock, but in a way you never have before.

Remember to click here and check out the website for the project.
